Cookies & Local Storage Policy
Last updated: 1 October 2026.
The Short Answer
This site does not use cookies. There is no cookie-consent banner because there is nothing to consent to.
What This Site Does Store, on Your Device Only
A few small preferences are saved in your browser's own storage (localStorage/sessionStorage), not cookies, and never sent to any server. They exist purely so the site remembers your display preferences between visits:
- Colour mode โ light, dark, or follow-system.
- Background style and colour palette โ the decorative background you picked.
- "Pause effects" โ whether you turned off the decorative background animation.
- Focus mode (
only, cleared when you close the tab) โ set only if you open the site through a one-sided link, so the site shows just one side. - A one-time "visited before" flag (cleared when you close the tab) โ used only so the "Back" button knows whether going back will land you on another page of this site or not. It stores a single fixed value, nothing about which pages you viewed or who you are.
None of these identify you, none are shared with anyone, none are used for advertising or tracking, and none are readable by any other website.
Why No Consent Banner
Cookie-consent requirements exist for cookies and similar tracking technologies that identify you or follow you across sites. Nothing on this site does that โ hence no cookies, and no banner.
Third-Party Embeds
If you click to play an embedded YouTube video, YouTube may set its own cookies once the video player loads, governed by YouTube's own policies (see the Privacy Policy for the link) โ this only happens after your explicit click, never automatically.
Clearing This Data
You can clear all of the above at any time through your browser's own site-data settings. Doing so simply resets your display preferences to default โ nothing else is stored, so nothing else is lost.
Changes to This Policy
If this policy changes, the "Last updated" date above will change too.
